Holiday calendars for 204 countries, with the arithmetic already done: how many working days each month actually holds, which holidays fall on a weekend and buy nobody a day off, and which days a team split across borders is genuinely all at work.

What this almanac is for

A public holiday list on its own answers very little. The questions that actually come up are downstream of it: whether a thirty day payment term lands on a working day, how many billable days a quarter holds once national holidays are taken out, whether a supplier in another country will be at their desk on the day a shipment clears. Each of those needs the calendar turned into a count.

So every country page here carries the dates and the arithmetic together. Weekends are set per country rather than assumed to be Saturday and Sunday, because in several of the countries covered they are not. Holidays that land on an existing rest day are marked, since they are frequently miscounted as extra time off when they are nothing of the kind.

Where the dates come from

Dates are compiled from national government publications and cross checked against an open holiday dataset before release. Nothing here is a substitute for a statutory instrument: where a date is set by proclamation, moved at short notice, or depends on an astronomical or lunar observation, the published figure can change after this page was built. The methodology page sets out the sourcing and the known limits in full.
